Drivers can attend and test drive a variety of makes and models.

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego International Auto Show offers car enthusiasts and potential buyers the opportunity to explore a wide range of makes and models, from high-performance sports cars to electric vehicles.

Standout vehicles include the Corvette Stingray, which accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds.

“That’s why we’re here, we just want to try it out and see how it feels,” said Fel Nvarro, a car buyer who attended the event.

The Auto Show offers visitors the unique opportunity to gain practical experience with various vehicles. Norm and Kathy Hamlin, current sports car owners, were particularly impressed with the Corvette Stingray.

“Obviously a lot of power, nice lines, nice styling,” Norm Hamlin said.

In addition to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles, the show offers a growing selection of hybrid and electric vehicles. The EV test track featured the Chevy Silverado electric truck with a range of 440 miles.

“I have the Rivian and I’m curious what the Chevy was like,” said EV driver Jim Dew. “My brother-in-law has one. So I’m a truck driver, an electric truck guy. It was a good feeling, a nice truck.”

The event also includes an outdoor test drive area with brands such as Lucid, Kia and Volkswagen. According to a Production Plus study on Auto Show Insights, 43 percent of attendees say they plan to purchase a vehicle in the next 12 months.

For those interested in exotic cars, the show will also feature the McLaren, which is making its debut at the San Diego International Auto Show this year.

McLaren showed off its bright car colors and bragged about its victory in the F-1 Constructors’ Championship that year.

“We now make the No. 1 car in the world at the top of the sport, we have the No. 1 team and all of that technology carries over to the road car,” said Tony Morales of McLaren San Diego.

Mclaren San Diego in La Jolla is offering special leasing deals at the auto show.

“So the same technology that Formula 1 drivers drive in the races, their driving in the cars on the road, but safer and with more features,” Morales said.

The trade show offers consumers the opportunity to explore the latest trends in the automotive industry and compare different models in one place.

The show runs until Wednesday, January 1st.
