Allegiant takes off from Gulf Shores

Clarke County residents now have a new travel option as Allegiant Airlines has announced it will begin commercial service from Gulf Shores International Airport in May.

This expansion provides a convenient alternative to Mobile Airport, offering direct flights to major cities across the country.

Allegiant will introduce six new nonstop routes from Gulf Shores, including flights to Knoxville, Cincinnati, Houston, Bentonville/Fayetteville, Arkansas and Kansas City. These routes operate seasonally and operate during peak travel times such as school holidays, weekends and public holidays.

“We are pleased to offer air service to Gulf Shores for the first time in the city’s history,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief commercial officer. “These new routes make it easier than ever for travelers to reach Alabama’s beautiful beaches, while providing convenient options for local residents. We are committed to offering affordable fares and non-stop flights that make travel possible for more people.”

The new routes are designed to not only meet the growing demand for travel to Gulf Shores beaches, but also provide residents of surrounding counties with more flight options. Allegiant’s commitment to ultra-low fares makes these new routes particularly attractive to families and individuals looking to travel on a budget.

To celebrate the announcement, Allegiant is offering one-way fares starting at $49 on the new routes. This new service will provide Clarke County residents with more convenient travel options, helping them reach new destinations and enjoy affordable flights from a second nearby airport.
