Train service between Philadelphia and New York City has been temporarily suspended due to damage to the overhead line, Amtrak announced on Monday.

Amtrak said trains traveling from the 30th Street Station in West Philadelphia to the Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station were affected.

The railway company assumes that there will be delays for all scheduled trains in the region.

Amtrak says there is currently no timeline for repairing the cable damage.

“Crews are addressing this issue,” Amtrak said in an online announcement. “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we navigate this unexpected situation.”

Amtrak said customers affected by the closure will likely be offered accommodations on another day with similar departure times.

The company said it would waive fees for customers who need to change their reservation due to the changed schedule. Customers may call 1-800-USA-RAIL to make any necessary changes.
