Top 5 moments from Survivor 47 Final:

1. Return to camp: The final four participants returned to camp after a raucous tribal council. The mood was happy, but no one was happier than Christine “Teeny” Chirichillo. Sam Phalen was quieter, but the mere fact that he never voted for it Sue Smey and vice versa was an interesting tidbit. A big compliment to them Survivors Casting team for this great season. This was truly one of the most beautiful Final Four in recent memory.

2. The final immunity: It was about immunity, but this challenge was by far the toughest of the season. Everyone seemed to be doing great, but once again Rachel had the upper hand and managed to make it to the final Tribal Council. The challenge animal has secured a place in the “Survivor Hall of Fame”. Sam was immediately convinced that he was going to light a fire that night, claiming he hadn’t made a fire all season. He was quickly assured that he would be competing against Teeny.

3. Fire for the finale: As expected, Rachel saved Sue, saying she was the only player she trusted in the game. Teeny admitted that her rivalry with Sam was one-sided, and she resented the handsome jock who, in her opinion, attracted every girl’s attention in high school, not to mention teachers’ special requests to close classroom tables move. That last remark got a few laughs from the jury. Still, she was happy to face him in this final challenge. Teeny started strong and built up a stream of fire that quickly reached her rope. However, the wind was not her friend and she couldn’t direct the flame fast enough to raise her flag. Sam was able to come from behind and build his flame more slowly, but position it perfectly under the rope. As his flag was raised, Sam couldn’t contain his joy of victory as Teeny burst into tears. Her game was over and she had to settle for the last place in the jury.

4. Closing arguments: All three finalists were able to answer the jury’s questions well.

Rachel: Trust, your name is Rachel. It seemed arrogant when she expressed that she didn’t care how her game was remembered while bluntly saying that she deserved to win. Her quickness to attack Sam at every turn didn’t do her any favors either. But when she broke down her walls and talked about her husband, she seemed more sympathetic.

Sam: Sam emphasized that at times during his journey he fought back to stability as an underdog and made very convincing arguments for the victory that he commemorated Chris Underwood‘s jury pitch. His desire to put on a game that would be remembered for all the right reasons was a big consideration in the win column for me. A second positive aspect was the ease with which he was able to avoid and respond to Rachel’s comments.

Sue: The birthday girl wanted to win, and her persistence was even more evident in her answers. She was the most candid with her answers, for better or worse, often talking longer than she should have. This also made her even more lovable.

5. A winner and a goodbye: With a vote of 7-1, Rachel was the decisive winner, with only Kyle voting for Sam. Watch out Andy Rueda Explain how he turned his game around after a terrible first day was hilarious. It was also refreshing to see Rachel finally admit that she thought Sam would win this season. Sol YiHis love of burgers and admission that he didn’t see Rachel’s advantage in her fries might be my favorite moment of the season. Even more important is the trailer for Survivor 48 looked incredible.
