Live elimination episodes are always full of excitement and The voice was no different. With only five spots available for next week’s finale, Tuesday’s episode ramped up the drama as the lucky winners were gradually revealed over the course of the hour Agree Finalists advance to the final round.

One coach’s team remained intact (Team Bublé), while another was on the verge of elimination altogether (Team Reba).

Adding to the drama was the “Instant Save,” in which America had five minutes (yes, just five!) after Monday’s episode to vote for one of the four singers who received the fewest votes.

Possibly her last time The voice On stage, the four singers sang for their lives in hopes of securing the coveted final spot.

The remainder of the episode featured Reba McEntire, who sang “Consider Me Gone”; Gwen Stefani performing “Somebody Else’s” from her latest album bouquet; and Grammy-nominated singer October London, who soulfully sang his new single “3rd Shift.”

Before America saved Joseph from elimination, McEntire was the only coach where no singer reached the finals. It turns out that Joseph’s raucous rock cover of the Animals’ “House of the Rising Sun” won over viewers enough to catapult him into the Top 5, ahead of Christina Eagle (Team Snoop), Adam Bohanan (Team Reba) and Jan Dan (Team Gwen). ).

Earlier, the Dallas-based Brit, who has spoken openly about his journey with Crohn’s disease, thanked McEntire for giving him the confidence to perform just months after surgery. “Without you on stage, the world would have been so disadvantaged,” said a tearful McEntire.

A look ahead to next week

The finalists have been chosen! The pressure is on as all four coaches will be in the final: Sofronio Vasquez and Shye (Team Bublé), Sydney Sterlace (Team Gwen), Jeremy Beloate (Team Snoop) and Danny Joseph (Team Reba).

The penultimate episode next Monday will be full of performances. The top five will not only take the stage, but also expect a holiday duet from coach Michael Bublé and Carly Pearce, who served as his playoff advisor, and a return to The voice from Season 24 winner Huntley. Snoop Dogg’s accomplice Martha Stewart will also make a special appearance.

The voice airs December 9th at 8pm ET on NBC.
