Anthony Scaramucci Compares Trump’s FBI Favorite Kash Patel to Matt Gaetz – Trump Media & Technology (NASDAQ:DJT)

Anthony Scaramucciformer White House communications director, drew parallels between the president-elect on Monday “Donald Trump”s nomination of Kash Patel for FBI Director and Matt Gaetz‘s unsuccessful bid for attorney general.

The details: Scaramucci told CNN Anderson Cooper that Trump’s initial Cabinet picks are aimed at pleasing his MAGA base, but he likely has replacement candidates if the initial nominations fail.

“He does that because he looks at his base and says these (picks) are for you,” Scaramucci said.

Scaramucci pointed to Trump’s quick selection Pam Bondi as a replacement candidate for attorney general after Gaetz withdrew, facing opposition from Senate Republicans and ongoing investigations into alleged misconduct.

“I think it’s the same with Kash Patel. I don’t think there is any expectation that he will come through,” he added, citing Patel’s chances of confirmation.

Patel is a staunch Trump ally who has been vocal in his criticism of the deep state and defended Trump in various investigations. Patel is also a member of the board of Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. DJT the parent company of truth social.

CEO of Trump Media Devin Nunes recently congratulated Patel on Trump’s election.

“Kash is an extremely talented attorney and investigator with an unwavering commitment to our Constitution and a brilliant choice for the position of FBI Director,” Nunes said in a press release.

What’s next: Patel’s confirmation as FBI director could potentially come in early 2025, following Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings and a vote that would then be reported to the full Senate. The full U.S. Senate would consider the committee’s nomination and hold a confirmation vote.
