Army West Point will host the 2024 American Athletic Conference football championship game

IRVING, Texas – One of sports’ most historic venues will add a new distinction to its legacy next week: Michie Stadium in West Point, New York, will host the 2024 American Athletic Conference football championship game.

The American Football Championship Game will take place on Friday, December 6th when Army (10-1) hosts Tulane (9-3) at 8:00 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT at Michie Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on ABC for the tenth consecutive year.

Coverage begins on ESPN+ with the American Football Championship Pregame Show at 7:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. CT.

Army secured home-field advantage for the championship game with a 29-24 win over UTSA on Saturday, capping an 8-0 season in conference play in its first year at The American. Tulane finished one game behind the Black Knights at 7-1 in conference play.

Michie Stadium, named the third best sports venue in the world by Sports Illustrated, will host a conference championship game for the first time.

Army and Tulane have met on the gridiron 23 times since the series began in 1953. Tulane is 13-9-1 in the series and has won the last four meetings, most recently in 2020 in New Orleans 38-12.
