ASU secures a berth in the Big 12 Championship Game

Arizona State football has secured a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game following TCU’s win over Cincinnati on Saturday.

Arizona State did its part on Saturday with a 49-7 victory over the Arizona Wildcats in the Territorial Cup. Running back Cam Skattebo led the Sun Devils offense, rushing for 177 yards and scoring three touchdowns, while quarterback Sam Leavitt threw for 291 yards and three touchdowns.

This is the first time ASU has appeared in a conference championship game since 2013. The Sun Devils faced Stanford in the Pac-12 championship game and lost 38-14 in Tempe.

With Saturday’s win, ASU secured its first Territorial Cup victory since 2021 and its first 10-win season since 2014.

Who might play ASU in the Big 12 Championship Game?

If Iowa State loses to Kansas State and BYU beats Houston, ASU and BYU will meet in the championship game. If both Iowa State and BYU lose, ASU and Colorado would meet in the Big 12 title game.

If ASU, BYU, Iowa State and Colorado finish tied at 7-2 in conference play, ASU and Iowa State will meet in the Big 12 title game.

Big 12 Championship game details

The Big 12 Championship game will be played on December 7th at 10 a.m. MST at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
