Author Steven Knight answers whether there are “plans for more Peaky Blinders beyond the Cillian Murphy film” in Hollywood

Steven Knight also said that although the filming of Peaky Blinders has been completed, the release date has not been set yet.

Author Steven Knight said that the upcoming Peaky Blinders film may not be the last project in the Cillian Murphy-led series. “Well, it’s interesting that you ask that question because the film is coming out now and that won’t be the end of it,” he told Britain’s Times Radio. However, the screenwriter did not reveal whether it would be another series or another film.

He also said that although the filming of the film “Peaky Blinders” has been completed, the release date has not been decided yet. “It’s a little too early for that, but you can calculate that it will take about a year,” he added.

In the film, Cillian reprises the role of Birmingham gangster Tommy Shelby from the 2013 drama series Peaky Blinders. The new film is directed by Tom Harper. Set in Birmingham between 1919 and 1934, Peaky Blinders follows the rise of the Shelby family as they navigate a world marked by radical social, economic and political change.

The sixth season of the British crime drama about the titular Peaky Blinders crime gang after the First World War ended in April 2022. Creator Steven had claimed that he would like to continue the story “in a different form”.

Peaky Blinders, which premiered on BBC Two in 2013, moved to BBC One and eventually became a worldwide phenomenon after becoming available on Netflix. The film will also star Barry Keoghan, Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth and Stephen Graham.
