WATERLOO – Police have identified the man found dead near an alley on Dec. 7.
The deceased was identified during an autopsy last week as Tommie Lee Johnson, 59, of Waterloo.
The Iowa Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Johnson’s death a homicide, but further details were not available.
On the morning of Dec. 7, a passerby discovered Johnson’s remains in a yard off an alley behind 721 Fowler St. Officers were only able to identify him after family members reported him missing a few days later.
