Badgers news: Game Thread vs. No. 6 Texas A&M Aggies

After a 3-1 win over the No. 7 seed Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, the No. 2 seed Wisconsin Badgers will face the No. 6 seed Texas A&M Aggies in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament on Friday.

The Badgers had a challenge against a spirited Georgia Tech team, narrowly losing the first set 27-25 before winning the next three sets 25-20, 25-23 and 25-21 and their final game of the season at UW Field House won.

They now travel to Lincoln, Nebraska to face the Aggies on Friday evening and once again secure a place in the semifinals.

2024 will be Wisconsin’s 12th consecutive appearance in the Sweet Sixteen, and they will face a familiar opponent as they beat Texas A&M 3-0 at the Field House in September.

The Aggies finished the regular season 21-7, including 10-6 in conference play. They earned a 3-1 victory over No. 8 seed Arizona State, winning 25-19, 22-25, 25-15 and 25-22 to secure their trip to the Sweet Sixteen.

If Wisconsin can pull out the win, they could face the No. 1 seed Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Elite Eight, hoping to gain revenge after two disappointing losses to their rivals this season.
