The replacement of Ferran Torres scored two goals, including a winner of the 85th minute, when Barcelona achieved a highly competitive victory in Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday in the Champions League to qualify.

In a pulsating second half of five goals, Torres scored twice in 10 minutes after he had arrived in the 71st minute to raise Barcelona to 15 points to second place, with two games in the league.

Dortmund was out of a goal twice when Serhou Guirassy scored both goals, but they couldn’t do it a third time after Torres’ goal from a Lamine Yamal Pass.

The Germans fell in ninth place on 12 points. The eight best teams automatically qualify for the 16th round.

Barcelona was the property from the start and captain Raphinha and goal scorer Robert Lewandowski had early chances.

The hosts reacted with their own chance of Marcel Sabitzer, but it was Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel, who was employed in a largely one -sided first half, with visitors enjoying almost 70% possession.

Dortmund looked harder after the break and Guirassy exhibited the ball in the 50th minute before the efforts were excluded on the net.

However, it was not wrong when Raphinha adhered to an excellent Dani Olmo passport to end a short step in the 53rd minute and bring Barcelona to the driving seat with his sixth goal of the competition.

The hosts were with Guirassy’s well-educated punishment an hour after the Guinea national player had been brought to the penalty area before Dortmund’s Kobel came to rescue again and stopped another Olmo shot.

He was beaten in the 75th when Torres, who arrived four minutes earlier, got onto the rebound after Kobel hit a Frenkie de Jong volley in his way.

Guirassy struck back three minutes later when the Barca defense caught a nap, but it would not be enough to earn a point when Torres scored another goal after an excellent ball through Yamal.

There was still bad news for injury plagued Dortmund after defender Nico Schlotterbeck had shot his ankle after a header in the last step of the game and had to be treated on the field after the last pipe.
