Another late slip meant the Catalan team managed a draw despite their coach being sent off

Barcelona were once again put in trouble by their opponents this weekend, having done so against Celta Vigo in November when they blew a late lead to draw 2-2 with Real Betis.

Betis put in a strong performance in the first half, creating chances and asking questions, but they were caught up after 38 minutes when Pedri, after a nice move, found Jules Kounde on the right and his cross was met by Robert Lewandowski from close range – Reach.

Betis put in another strong performance in the second half and Barca had Inaki Pena to thank, who made more than one excellent save, especially when it came to denying Vitor Roque.

On the hour mark, Roque was screaming for a penalty when he appeared to be pushed to the ground in the box by substitute Frenkie de Jong, and a lengthy VAR review ensued before a penalty was awarded. The Dutchman was cautioned and coach Hansi Flick was sent off. Giovani Lo Celso scored from the penalty spot.

And with nine minutes left, Ferran Torres finished after a great assist from Yamal, although the offside flag was raised. However, a VAR review confirmed the goal, leading to huge celebrations from the bench.

There was another twist when Betis equalized in the very last minute; A great touch from Assane Diao who sent the ball into the bottom corner.
