Bengaluru Techie Suicide: Senior Executive Commits Suicide After Domestic Violence Allegations | Bengaluru News

A senior executive from Bengaluru loses his life after sending a warning to an NGO about harassment of his wife

BENGALURU: A Managing director of an automobile company was found hanging at his residence in Munnekolalu, Marathahalli in the early hours of Monday. He left behind a 24-page death note in which he detailed how domestic problems, including eight police reports against him by his wife and others, had brought him to the brink of despair.
The deceased is 34-year-old Subhash Atul from Uttar Pradesh and an executive of the company.
The incident came to light when Atul sent an email late on Sunday evening to an NGO advocating for the causes of men facing domestic violence and related issues. The email, which expressed his intention to end his life, prompted the NGO to take immediate action. Concerned employees alerted the police control room and shared details of Atul’s message. Acting on the tip-off, the police reached Atul’s apartment, broke open the door and found him dead.

A frightening scene awaited the officer: an A4 sheet taped to Atul’s chest read: “Justice is due.” Further investigation led to the discovery of a detailed schedule and a short note taped to a cupboard. The instructions, written in English and Hindi, provided step-by-step instructions on what he needed to do in the days before his death and what to do later. The schedule included tasks such as saying prayers, organizing his belongings and sending emails to important recipients, including the courts and his workplace.
Atul described alleged harassment by his wife and others and described several criminal cases filed against him, including a domestic violence complaint. The note also contained an urgent request to the NGO to support his parents and relatives wherever possible.
According to the schedule, he planned to upload a video, return his laptop with charger and car to his office, and delete biometric data from his phone. However, it could not be verified whether he had done these things.
Police have contacted Atul’s parents, who were expected to arrive in Bengaluru on Monday evening. They have requested that no formal investigation be opened until they file an official complaint.
A senior police official noted: “His email to the NGO highlights the mental and emotional trauma he has gone through. Further action will be taken after his family issues their statement.”
