Big concert announced for Golden Gate Park in SF

If Outside Lands is the San Francisco equivalent of Coachella, the city just got its stagecoach. On Wednesday, Outside Lands promoter Another Planet Entertainment announced a seven-hour concert in Golden Gate Park featuring Zach Bryan and Kings of Leon. The concert is scheduled to take place on August 15th from 3 to 10 p.m., a week after Outside Lands. Additional acts are expected to be announced soon.

It’s the second installment of the Golden Gate Park Concerts series, an offshoot of Outside Lands scheduled for the weekend after the festival. At last year’s opening concert, System of a Down and Deftones drew 50,000 fans to a sold-out show at the Polo Fields in Golden Gate Park.

Zach Bryan, who is scheduled to headline the California country music festival Stagecoach in April, won a Grammy in 2024 for his duet “I Remember Everything” with Kacey Musgraves. The country singer got his start by uploading his music to YouTube, eventually going viral with his earnest, acoustic guitar-driven tracks, reaching the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. This week, he made Forbes’ 30 Under list 30”.

A band of brothers in the truest sense of the word, Kings of Leon enjoyed major commercial success in their early years with the pop-rock singles “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody.”
