BREAKING NEWS: Highway 1 fatalities Monday morning | KCII Radio

Three people died when a driver tried to pass a snowplow in Washington County Monday morning. The Iowa State Patrol reports that a Buick was traveling on Highway 1 toward Washington from Kalona when the driver attempted to pass an Iowa DOT snow plow. The vehicle collided head-on with a Nissan in the northbound lane. The drivers of both vehicles were killed, as was the passenger of the Nissan, and another passenger was injured and taken to the University of Iowa Hospital. The Iowa State Patrol is investigating and has not released the names of those involved. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County EMS and Jones Eden Funeral Home.
