Britney Spears is celebrating her birthday after being declared legally single following her divorce

Britney Spears celebrated her 43rd birthday in style, just hours after she was declared single following her divorce from model Sam Asghari.

The “Toxic” singer showed off her party outfit on Instagram, which included a champagne slip dress and a lace shawl.

“Pre dinner red lips and delicious wine 👄🍷!!!” Spears captioned the post.

Then, in the early hours of Tuesday, Spears returned to Instagram to remind people it was her birthday and complain about the paparazzi. She also joked that she was turning five and going to kindergarten.

“It hurts me that the paparazzi make my face look like I’m wearing a white Jason mask and it doesn’t even look like me,” Spears said, referring to the Michael Myers villain Halloween Horror films. She added that paparazzi “have always been incredibly cruel to me.”

“I know I’m not perfect by any means, but some of this is extremely mean and cruel, and that’s why I moved to Mexico,” she said.

In another video, Spears addressed recent photos of her boarding a plane, but changed direction toward the end to acknowledge that it was her big day.

“Anyway, it’s my birthday. I’m not turning 42, I’m turning five this year. “I’m turning five and have to go to kindergarten tomorrow,” she said into the camera.

The video ended with Spears showing off her chocolate-covered birthday cake topped with “baby strawberries.”

“It’s a very, very sweet baby cake,” the singer said.

Spears celebrated her birthday as a single woman, nearly 18 months after Asghari filed for divorce.

Court documents declared Spears single Monday after finalizing her divorce in May People magazine and E! News.

Accordingly, both Spears and Asghari agreed to an uncontested divorce USA today.

The couple had been married for 13 months but had been together since 2016 when they met on the set of the music video for their song “Slumber.”

They married in a star-studded ceremony at their Malibu home in June 2022, but Asghari filed for divorce the following year, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

After their split and her release from a controversial conservatorship set up by her father, Spears released a memoir in which she described Asghari as a “gift from God.”

“I knew immediately that I wanted him in my life. I was immediately blown away. The chemistry between us at the beginning was crazy. We couldn’t keep our hands off each other,” she wrote about Asghari in the book titled The woman in me. “He called me his lioness.”

Spears later added, “I appreciate how stable he is. I love that he doesn’t even drink.”
