Britney Spears was declared legally single on her 43rd birthday

Britney Spears can celebrate her 43rd birthday with the news that she is now officially a single woman.

Seven months after reaching a divorce agreement with actor Sam Asghari, People magazine reported that the pop star was declared single by a California court on Monday, which also happened to be her birthday.

Spears and Asghari’s 13-month marriage ended at the end of July 2023 after over six years together.

The “Hacks” actor, whose birth name is Hesam Asghari, officially filed for divorce a month later, citing irreconcilable differences.

The “Baby, One More Time” singer responded to Asghari’s proposal in an August 2023 Instagram post in which she told her followers, “As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together.”

“Six years is a long time to be with someone so I’m a little shocked but… I’m not here to explain why because honestly it’s nobody’s business!!!” Spears continued . “But honestly I couldn’t take the pain anymore!!!”

Since then, it seems like Spears has embraced the single life.

Back in October, the chart-topper celebrated her independence by announcing that she had gotten married herself.

“The day I married myself… I’m bringing it back because it might seem embarrassing or stupid but I think it’s the most genius thing I’ve ever done!!!” She captioned an Instagram video captioned in which she wears a wedding veil and a silky cream dress.

Spears was previously married to dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she has sons Sean Preston Federline (19) and Jayden James Federline (18).

In 2004, she married her childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander in a ceremony in Las Vegas, but the marriage was annulled just 55 hours later.
