Since being selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, former Georgia Bulldog tight end Brock Bowers has had a rookie season for the ages with the Las Vegas Raiders. So far he has set records, won the Player of the Month award and showcased his generational talent.

On Sunday he had another milestone. Bowers became just the third rookie tight end in history to record more than 1,000 receiving yards in a season, joining rookie Mike Ditka (1961; 1,076) and former Florida Gator Kyle Pitts (2021; 1,026). .

He was also the only rookie tight end to catch more than 100 passes in a season. This came after he caught 11 balls for 99 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bowers has 101 catches and 1,067 yards in just 16 games so far. That means he’s just 10 yards away from overtaking Mike Ditka as the record holder for most receiving yards by a rookie tight end ever.

He also needs just five receptions over the next two weeks to break Puka Nacua’s catch record for all rookies (Nacua set it last year with 105).

The Raiders play the Saints and Chargers in the next two weeks. They had a disappointing season at 3-12, but Bowers has given Raiders fans hope and optimism for the future.
