Carabao Cup semi-final draw LIVE: Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham learn their fate

This draw means the possibility of a North London derby in the Carabao Cup final still exists. What an occasion that would be at Wembley Stadium…

However, there is still a lot of work for Arsenal and Spurs to do to get past their semi-final opponents.

So here’s the full draw (all two games of it…), with the teams listed first playing the home game first. Remember that the semi-finals will be played over two games the week of January 6th and the week of February 3rd. The winners will face off in the final at Wembley Stadium on March 16.

Which means the other is a draw Tottenham against Liverpool.

The two north London teams will be at home in the first legs.

As Son Heung-min rolled away and the Tottenham fans in the south stand fought their way into the Carabao Cup semi-final, it was fitting for this crazy, breathless duel that the winning goal against Manchester United came straight from a corner kick. A big night for Ange Postecoglou as Spurs moved one step closer to their first trophy since 2008. There was palpable relief as Son’s corner ensured they recovered from extraordinary embarrassment. Ruben Amorim’s team couldn’t find another comeback.

Above all, it was a bad evening for the substitute goalkeepers. Altay Bayindir fluttered as Son’s cross flew over his head, it was the second goal he was to blame for. He didn’t cover himself with glory in his first appearance under Amorim and may still be appealing to referee John Brookes. Meanwhile, Fraser Forster’s efforts with the ball at his feet ensured another two of the seven goals at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium came from goalkeeping errors. Lisandro Martinez contributed a few more errors and defended poorly.
