Carencro Mardi Gras Association opens registration for 2025 parade

The holiday season may be over, but the carnival season is just beginning. The Carencro Mardi Gras Association has officially announced that registration for the 41st Annual Carencro Mardi Gras Parade is now open. The CMGA will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025 and promises a day full of community, tradition and festive fun.

This year, organizers have made great efforts to address previous concerns and ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants. There were some challenges at last year’s parade, including problems with music selection, profanity and the use of open microphones by DJs. With updated policies and a proactive approach, the association is confident these issues will be resolved.

Registration details

In a Facebook post, the club emphasized the inclusivity and enthusiasm for the upcoming parade and invited both new and experienced participants to join in the festivities. Registration costs $750 and requires proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license. Parade goers are asked to read the updated rules to avoid surprises.

Important updates for the 2025 parade

  • Music guidelines: Drivers can play any music as long as it is clean and uses radio-friendly versions.
  • DJs on floats: DJs are now allowed to use open mics to engage with the crowd, adding an interactive element to the celebration.
  • Safety rules: As in previous years, no open flames, grills or glass containers are permitted on the floats to ensure a safe parade experience.

The association has also clarified that parade fees cover essential expenses such as security, permits, cleanup and insurance. These fees are vital to maintaining the event, which has become a staple of the Carencro community.

Event details

With road closures scheduled for 10 a.m. and the parade beginning at 11 a.m., participants and visitors alike are encouraged to mark their calendars and make plans now. The club is optimistic that there will be a strong turnout and looks forward to celebrating this carnival with everyone.
