Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender lead the drama

Here’s your first look at it Black bagthe globe-trotting spy drama by Steven Soderbergh.

The high-stakes flick stars Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender alongside Regé-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Naomie Harris, Tom Burke and Pierce Brosnan.

The official synopsis describes the film as a gripping spy drama about legendary secret service agent George Woodhouse and his beloved wife Kathryn. When she is suspected of betraying the nation, George faces the ultimate test: loyalty to his marriage or his country.

Focus Features will release the flick on March 14th. The film’s producers are Casey Silver and Greg Jacobs. David Koepp wrote the script. Soderbergh most recently worked with Koepp Presentwhich had its world premiere at Sundance 2024. Lucy Liu stars in this film with Chris Sullivan, Callina Liang, Julia, Fox, Eddy Maday and West Mulholland.

Soderbergh is currently in full swing. Earlier this month we reported that director Ian McKellen (Lord of the rings Franchise), Michaela Coel (I can destroy you) and James Corden (Gavin & Stacey) in his next film The Christophers. Production on the film begins in London in February.

The Christophers is a dark comedy about the estranged children of a once-famous artist who hires a forger to finish his unfinished works so they can be discovered and sold after his death. The screenplay is by Ed Solomon, Soderbergh’s collaborator on the 2021 crime thriller No sudden movementMax miniseries Full circleHBO crime thriller Mosaic (released both as a series and as a mobile app) and Bill & Ted face the music (produced by Soderbergh’s managing director).
