CeeDee Lamb on playing with a shoulder injury: I’m putting my body on the line for my boys

Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb played the second half of the season with a shoulder injury. He’s obviously in pain.

The question is: why is he still playing?

Even though the Cowboys are eliminated from the postseason, Lamb is not only showing up, but showing up.

“I love this game so much,” Lamb said. “I’m literally willing to put my body on the line for my boys.”

Lamb injured his shoulder in a game against the Falcons in Week 9. He has struggled with the pain ever since, even after it worsened in the Thanksgiving Day game against the Giants and Sunday night’s game against the Bucs.

“My shoulder got out of balance,” Lamb said. “I won’t even lie to you. I’m just out there fighting and doing what I do. It’s no fun.”

Lamb had seven catches for 105 yards in Sunday night’s 26-24 win over the Bucs, but six of the catches and 100 yards came in the first half. He didn’t play much in the second half after hitting his shoulder on the ground at the end of a 52-yard catch at the first half’s two-minute warning.

“I’m so proud of CeeDee fighting to get back in there. It just tells you something about him,” Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said.

Lamb ranks second in receptions with 101 and third in receiving yards with 1,194.
