Did Brian Thompson's murderer wear a Peak Design backpack? Company boss says...
Peak Design’s CEO said the backpack the New York shooter had could be an old model from his brand, which stopped production in 2019.

When the NYPD found a gray backpack that may have belonged to the murderer who brazenly killed CEO of UniversalHealthcare Peak Design CEO Brian Thompson and Paul Dering said it could be an old version of their Everyday backpack, which was on the market from 2016 to 2019.
Peter Dering said that after the NYPD released the photos of the suspected killer, he received many messages indicating that the person was likely carrying one Backpack from Peak Design. He said he had contacted the NYPD and assured all sorts of help in identifying the killer.
“This is crazy,” Dering said in an interview with NYT. “Every aspect of it is so crazy.”
Revealing more about the bag, Dering said his company stopped selling the bag in 2019, but it is possible the bag was a used bag sold on Peak Design’s website, but that there tend to be very few such bags available. Most likely, the bag in the picture was purchased between 2016 and 2019, he said.
After a similar backpack was found in the Central Park area, NYPD investigators did not open the bag and sent it directly to the lab for forensic examination.
The backpack was very popular among photographers and is also called the “photographer’s backpack”.

The murderer is not in New York City, he escaped by bus

Detective Jessica Tisch said she believes the killer is not hiding anywhere in New York City. After escaping the scene on a bicycle, the killer is believed to have fled New York City on a bus. The killer left a trail of clues for the police, including his phone, backpack, words on bullet casings, etc., but the perpetrator has not yet been identified or caught.
Investigators rule out that the killer was a hit man, even though he was skilled with the special weapon he used to kill Brian Thompson. Investigators believe he acted out of personal revenge.
