Charissa Thompson made a heartbreaking confession about women in sports media

Fox Sports broadcaster Charissa Thompson was the latest guest on Kylie Kelce’s top-rated podcast I won’t lie and it offered a harrowing insight into the difficulty of climbing the ladder.

During Thompson’s appearance on Kelce’s podcast, Kelce asked her if there is anyone who she believes has had “a positive influence” on her broadcasting career. But Thompson admitted that the people who were least nice to her had the biggest influence. Thompson explained that other women in the media can be “extremely spiteful and extremely competitive.” She said some treated her so badly that she vowed never to behave like them.

“I would actually go the other way, it was the women who weren’t nice to me that left the biggest mark,” Thompson said. “Because then I’m like, ‘Oh, I don’t want to be that.’

“I won’t name any names, but there were, you know, a few people who, women, let’s be honest, can be very spiteful and extremely competitive. Look, men can be that too, but the narrative sometimes continues with women, jealousy and all that other stuff because it’s true. So I remember one couple in particular who treated me a certain way, and now I’m like, ‘That won’t be me.'”
