Charlie, Tiger Woods’ teenage son, hits the first hole-in-one – DW – December 23, 2024

Tiger Woods’ son Charlie hit his first hole-in-one on Sunday while the two played together at the PNC Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando.

Although he lost the tournament to Bernhard Langer and his son Jsaon, it was a memorable day for the Woods family after Charlie hit the 176-yard par-3 fourth straight into the hole.

I’m waiting for TV confirmation that it fell down

“It was the thrill of my life, experiencing that moment with Charlie, making his first hole-in-one, (daughter) Sam on the bag, just our family and friends. That’s what this event is about. That’s what it’s about. “Bonding and family,” Woods said.

“We heard it right and left up on the green, but we were completely unsure until the TV confirmed it and we went crazy.”

And son Charlie added: “It was great having dad there. That was so much fun. Of course I never saw it go in, so that sucks, but that’s okay.”

He said the hole-in-one was the most fun he had enjoyed on a golf course: “It’s not even close.”

The PNC Championship was Tiger Woods’ first public round of golf since he missed the cut at the Open Championship in July.

Woods had successful back surgery three months ago and has not yet announced his playing plans for 2025.

Langer wins the sixth title in the playoff against the Woods

Bernhard Langer won the PNC Championship for the sixth time – on Sunday it was his fourth victory with son Jason, in addition to two victories with his older son Stefan.

He sank an eagle putt and beat Woods on the first playoff hole.

The tournament is open to winners of a major on any tour or the Players Championship and a family member. The total prize money for the tournament is comparatively modest at 1 million US dollars (around 960,000 euros).
