Chicago is expecting a warmer weekend. Here’s what to expect

CHICAGO (CBS) — This weekend the temperatures will be significantly warmer.

Highs Saturday afternoon will be in the mid 40s. Sunday will be even warmer, with highs around 50 degrees – about 10 degrees above normal for this time of December.

This weekend, gusty winds are expected from the southwest, which will bring milder air. If you were hoping to put up some Christmas lights today, it might be a little difficult due to the stronger breeze. A pulse of energy will come through starting Sunday night, providing the chance for a few scattered showers. Behind this disturbance, temperatures will become colder by midweek.
