After missing the first eight games of the season with bilateral Achilles tendonitis, San Francisco star running back Christian McCaffrey returned to the roster during the 49ers’ Week 10 triumph over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
At the start of San Francisco’s Sunday Night Football matchup with the Buffalo Bills, McCaffrey’s injury problems resurfaced.
After a promising start to the evening, McCaffrey received a throw from starting quarterback Brock Purdy and sprinted briefly before coming up lame and sliding down on his own.
McCaffrey walked out and was quickly taken to the 49ers medical tent. Eventually, McCaffrey was taken to the locker room for further examination.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, McCaffrey is dealing with a knee injury and is questionable whether he will return.
