Closures in Santa Cruz County due to flooding and high surf

Several roads, beaches and areas in Santa Cruz County are closed due to flooding or flood warnings due to the high surf. A high surf warning is in effect until midday Tuesday. According to the California Highway Patrol, East Cliff Drive is closed between 26th Avenue and Palisades Avenue due to significant flooding. CHP is asking people not to drive over flooded areas. Capitola Village is closed due to high surf and flooding. Venetians residents are asked to immediately evacuate waterfront units. Villagers near 100 Esplanade and Monterey are asked to shelter in place or leave voluntarily. These closures apply until further notice. The following streets are also closed: East Cliff at 9th Avenue, East Cliff at Moran Lake, Marina Avenue at Aptos Beach Drive, Moosehead Drive and Rio Del Mar at Aptos Beach Drive. Santa Cruz Wharf, Santa Cruz Boardwalk and all surrounding beaches are closed until further notice.
