Clyde Edwards-Helaire signs with the New Orleans Saints

Former Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has signed with the New Orleans Saints. Edwards-Helaire, originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a former LSU star, is returning home to continue his football career. In 2019, he racked up 1,414 yards and 16 touchdowns while contributing to LSU’s national championship team. “For Chiefs Kingdom, it’s all love and support,” he said after his release on X. “The love I received during difficult times , will forever be unsurpassed by you! With love!”Edwards-Helaire was nominated for the Uvalde Foundation for Kids Heroism Award after protecting a teenager during the shooting at the Super Bowl parade outside Union Station.

Edwards-Helaire, originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a former LSU star, is returning home to continue his football career.

In 2019, he accumulated 1,414 yards and 16 touchdowns, contributing to LSU’s national championship team.

He was on the non-football injured list all season.

The Chiefs waived him to make room for the possible return of wide receiver Hollywood Brown from the injured list.
