CNN anchor announces she’s leaving the network: ‘It was an honor’

CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota announced that she has left the network after a decade there. Their last show was Sunday afternoon.

Camerota took to Instagram to announce the news just hours before her final show. She shares a photo of herself behind a desk along with a short message that reads, “Big news, everyone!” − Today is my last day at CNN.”

She didn’t immediately share her next steps, but said she would share updates with her followers later.

Camerota addressed her exit from the station in the closing moments of her final newscast, but did not disclose the reason for her exit.

“I have had such incredible opportunities here over the last ten years. I interviewed presidents, heroes and extraordinary people, the kind of career highlights I had dreamed of since I was a teenager,” Camerota said. “The journalists at CNN are the best in the entire news industry and it was an honor to have been their colleague.”

“I am also honored to have been in your home for the past decade and witnessed some of the greatest stories of our lives,” she added while addressing viewers. “I am always touched when a viewer comes to me and tells me that I helped them get through these challenging times.”

Reacting to her big news, correspondent Wolf Blitzer told Camerota that she was “not only a good friend, but also a colleague and an excellent journalist” and that “whatever your next challenges and adventures, I know you will be exciting and exciting.” wonderful.”

She is also the author of the novel “Amanda Wakes Up” and the memoir “Combat Love.”
