CNN commentator says Biden will ‘leave office in disgrace’

CNN commentator Scott Jennings said President Biden is leaving office in “disgrace.”

Jennings joined host Dana Bash and contributor Karen Finney for CNN’s “State of the Union” panel on Sunday to discuss Biden’s ending term.

Finney argued that while there were concerns about Biden’s health and fitness for office earlier this year, for the most part he is a good president and the impact of his work will be felt for years to come.

“I think he will leave office in disgrace,” Jennings said in discord, as Mediaite pointed out. “Hunter Biden’s pardon was a disgrace. He will be remembered above all for inflation and the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.”

Jennings continued, highlighting concerns that Biden’s aides covered up a decline in cognitive function before the 2024 presidential election and “for all four years.”

“I think it’s going to be a really ugly chapter,” he said. “This has weakened the presidency.”

“I think we still don’t know the full extent of what they did to cover up what they did in the West Wing,” Jennings concluded.

With just under a month until President-elect Trump takes office, Biden has put some of his last-minute plans as president into action.

In a controversial move, he pardoned his son Hunter Biden and commuted the sentences of 37 people on federal death row.
