Cody Bellinger is now working with model wife Chase Carter’s ex, Giancarlo Stanton

Cody Bellinger was traded from the Chicago Cubs to the New York Yankees on Tuesday. The deal for the outfielder/first baseman came after the Yankees missed out on signing Juan Soto, who opted for more money from the Mets.

It was a move the team felt was necessary to improve the current outfield situation. Bellinger is not Juan Soto, but he is 29. He is a former MVP with two years left on his contract and can opt out after 2025.

It’s also a move that has a high chance of making things awkward in the clubhouse, at least initially, which could make Bellinger more likely to pull the trigger on that exit. That all depends on how his time in the Bronx pans out on and off the field.

That’s because Chase Carter, his former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model wife and mother of his children, used to date one of his new teammates.

Bellinger and Carter began dating in 2020 and married in December 2023. They have two daughters together.

Before her relationship with Bellinger, Carter dated Giancarlo Stanton. The two came to an agreement sometime in 2019 when they broke up.

Possible drama in the Bronx if Cody Bellinger and his wife’s ex, Giancarlo Stanton, become teammates

The Eskimo brothers will now share a clubhouse and could potentially make back-to-back appearances in the Yankees’ lineup in 2025. People assume that this will become an issue between the two.

This isn’t the first time teammates have previously had a relationship with the same woman, nor will it be the last. There is no doubt that it will be a little embarrassing at first.

But this is where it will end. Giancarlo is running around making the most of being single in New York and Bellinger is enjoying married life with a model.

Plus, both of them are professionals. You won’t get away with blaming any of this on a slump or poor play. The fans will have a lot of fun with it, it will cause a stir on social media, but I expect the two of them to perform when they step onto the pitch.

Bellinger hit .266 with just 18 home runs and 78 RBIs last year. The last two numbers need to be better next season in the Bronx.

Peel the band-aid off the awkwardness early and get ready to play along. This is a veterans group and is expected to behave as such.
