Cold temperatures and sunny skies on Wednesday, snow/rain on Thursday

Freezing temperatures and sunny skies will continue on Wednesday, with snow/rain expected on Thursday

THE TIME IS NOW 444. WE ARE NOW LOOKING FROM OUR CAMERA AT FELLS POINT ON BALTIMORE, AND YOU CAN SEE HOW DRY IT IS RIGHT NOW. The sky is mostly clear. Today there will be a few more clouds and it will still be very cold. It was so cold to start this month. TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW NORMAL SO WE ALWAYS START IN THE 20S. We’re at 23 in Ellicott City. 25 WESTMINSTER. In Chestertown the temperature is 26 degrees. Temperatures remain cold today. Near 40 for the afternoon high. WHERE? If you take all of the last 30 years of data, the average is typically in the low 50s. So we are currently on the cold side of normal. We will see some more cloud cover and winds will pick up again from the southwest, up to 15 mph. And then when it hits 30 miles per hour, it just feels a lot colder. This makes these temperatures around 40 degrees feel like they are stuck in the 20s and 30s. THIS IS HOW YOU WANT TO DRESS TODAY AS TEMPERATURES CLIMB IN THE 30S TO ALMOST 40 DEGREES. It feels like we’re stuck in the 20s all morning. AND AT BEST IT FEEL LIKE LOW 30’S THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. AND EVENING. That’s why you definitely want lots of warm layers, like we’re only in our 30s today. HOWEVER, FUTURECAST WILL SHOW TODAY THE WEATHER WILL BE DRY, WITH ONLY AN INCREASE IN CLOUDS AS TEMPERATURES REACH THE HIGHER 30°C BY THIS AFTERNOON. Even Oakland could briefly warm above freezing this afternoon, but then we’ll watch a very strong cold front approach the region by tomorrow. And so there will be light snow showers in Western Maryland this evening. And even overnight there could be isolated rain or snow here in the Baltimore area. At this point we are above freezing so I’m not worried about the roads. THEY WOULD JUST STAY WET BUT WE HAVE TO BE EXTRA CAREFUL UNTIL THE MORNING IF WE GET ANOTHER DOSE OF RAIN AND SNOW TOMORROW. The strong cold front comes early in the morning between around 5 and 7 a.m. This is particularly the time frame we get. That quick little burst of rain and snow. And again, we’re above freezing at this point. UPPER 30S TO LOWER 40S. So the roads would be fine for the most part, but it’s getting colder in Western Maryland at this point. THERE YOU WILL TAKING THE SNOW AT 7:00 AM. This is mostly out of the area, but the roads will be wet for the morning commute. And then there’s still a little bit of snowfall on the lower east bank, even though temperatures are above freezing and then actually dropping throughout the day on Thursday. So it will be a little misleading how much colder it will get tomorrow as the day goes on. There could be a light snowfall in the northern parts of Maryland, but none of it would really impact the roads. BUT WEST MARYLAND COULD SEE UP TO 10 INCHES OF FRESH SNOW TOMORROW NIGHT. OUR FORECAST FOR WEATHER IN THE BALTIMORE AREA, JUST ASSUMED THAT THE ROADS MAY BE WET DURING YOUR MORNING COMMUTE AT 6:00 TOMORROW, WE WILL BE CLOSE TO 40 DEGREES IF THERE IS SOME RAIN AND SNOW, AND THEN IT STARTS TO BE CLEARED OUT BY LUNCH Gusts become stronger 50 mph. And watch the temperatures drop throughout the day. TOMORROW IT WILL BE 30 DEGREES UNTIL 6:00 PM TOMORROW EVENING. So our seven-day forecast: This is the first really active day coming up. AFTER THAT, IT’S STILL EARLY ON FRIDAY, BUT THEN IT DRIES OUT FOR THE WEEKEND AND LOOK AT IT COME TO 50S ON SUNDAY AND 62S ON TUESDAY THROUGH MONDAY. THE
