College Football Playoff Selection Day studio shows reveal, analyze and react to the first-ever 12-team CFP round

ESPN platforms are dedicating Sunday’s live studio coverage to College Football Playoff Selection Day, including the exclusive unveiling of the first-ever 12-team playoff field during the College Football Playoff Selection Show presented by AT&T at 12 p.m. ET on Sunday, December 8th.

During the four-hour show on ESPN, the 12 College Football Playoff teams, their associated CFP category and the final top 25 rankings from the CFP Selection Committee will be announced. ESPN, ESPN2, SEC Network, ACC Network, ESPN.com, ESPN CFB YouTube and Facebook, as well as the ESPN app all provide additional playoff analysis, reaction and coverage.

College Football Playoff Selection Show Highlights:

  • The College Football Playoff rankings and brackets will be announced in the first 30 minutes of the show
  • Rece Davis returns as host for the eleventh consecutive year
  • Kirk Herbstreit, Joey Galloway, Booger McFarland And Greg McElroy Join Davis again for the exclusive bracket and rankings reveal, with the first-ever addition of Nick Saban round out the group
  • Trainers and other guests are also expected
  • CFP Insider Pete Thamel And Heather Dinich will also be there, with Dinich live from CFP Selection Committee headquarters
  • ESPN will have reporters at top team locations across the country including:

Post-selection reaction on ESPN
From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Championship Drive: Ranked Reaction presented by Capital One will continue the discussion about the College Football Playoff and the overall bowl picture. Matt Barrie Host with insights Sam Acho, EJ Manuel, Trevor Matich, Roddy Jones, Paul Finebaum and Thamel. The first hour of the show will be available on ESPN and the final two hours will continue on ESPN2.

The two and a half hour special at prime time Championship Drive: Bowl Breakdown presented by Capital One (8:30-11 p.m., ESPN) will host Kevin Connors There were also analysts Dan MullenAcho, Matich and Thamel.

Start your Sunday morning with CFP analysis Sports center And Championship ride
A two hour one Championship Drive: Countdown to the Leaderboard, presented by Capital One airs at 10 a.m. on ESPN2 with Mullen, Finebaum, Thamel. Dan Orlovsky And Louis Riddick Joining the host Kevin Negandhi. The 8 a.m Sports center ESPN2 will feature a variety of college football commentators providing insight and analysis prior to the rankings’ release, including CFB on-air personalities SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt to end the night.

ESPN’s multi-platform Selection Day coverage includes:

  • NFL countdown on Sunday: The crew of the network’s popular NFL pregame show (10 a.m.-noon, ESPN) will join Herbstreit at 11 a.m. to discuss the upcoming CFP reveal.
  • Ranking Reaction presented by Allstate: host Sam Ravech And Matt Simms accompanied by guests Trevor Matich And EJ Manuel will respond to the final CFP rankings at 1 p.m. The 30-minute digital show will stream live on the ESPN college football YouTube and Facebook accounts, as well as the ESPN app.
  • Playoff image presented by AT&T: host Christine Williamson, Spencer Hall And Matt Simms We’ll take a look at what the path to a national championship would look like for a handful of teams in this group.       And Eddie Royal will meet again on Sunday, December 8th at 8 p.m. for two hours ACC Huddle: CFP and Bowl Selection Special. Analysts will respond to the 12 teams in the College Football Playoff and highlight the ACC’s 13 bowl-eligible teams with analysis and insights.
  • ESPN.com: Comprehensive news and analysis throughout selection day, broken down by playoff field and bowl matchups, including:
    • Heather Dinich will report from CFP Selection Committee headquarters.
    • Bill Connelly breaks down how all 12 playoff teams can win the national title for ESPN+.
    • Reporters break down the first round of the playoffs with a first look at all four matchups and provide instant bracket picks, from the first round to the title game.
    • Later this week, ESPN.com will also release Connelly’s updated annual list, which includes all 52 teams in the College Football Playoff.

First CFP Bracket Challenge presented by AT&T
For the first time ever College Football Playoff Bracket Challenge Presented by AT&T will give fans the opportunity to compete with friends, family and others by completing CFP rankings as part of the expanded playoffs. Fans who select the national champion will automatically be entered into a random drawing to win $50,000 total prices. The College Football Playoff Bracket Challenge presented by AT&T is now open ESPN.com, ESPN appAnd ESPN Fantasy App. Fans can fill out and enter the brackets until just before the start of the first round on December 20th.
