Conor McGregor claims ‘agreement’ has been made to fight Logan Paul in boxing exhibition match | Boxing News

Conor McGregor claims he has “agreed” to fight Logan Paul in a contest in India that would mark the Irishman’s second time at a top-level boxing event.

McGregor was recently found liable in a civil court case in which a woman accused him of sexual assault and was ordered to pay over £200,000 in damages. The former UFC champion had previously stated that he planned to appeal the decision.

He previously fought in a professional boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017, where he lost by TKO in the 10th round.

McGregor, a former two-weight UFC champion, announced on social media that rumors of a return to the octagon to fight Spanish superstar Ilia Topuria are false – and that he will instead fight Paul before returns to the octagon – where he has not fought since breaking his leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021.

“The rumors of a fight with (Ilia) Topurio (sic) are false,” McGregor said in a post on X.

“I have made tentative arrangements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing competition in India. I agreed.”

“Then I will aim for my return to the octagon.”

McGregor was scheduled to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303, but pulled out with a foot injury.

Mukesh Ambani, who was mentioned by McGregor in his social media post, has a personal fortune of $120 billion, according to Forbes.

Paul, who rose to fame as a YouTuber, also fought Mayweather in an exhibition bout that ended in a draw. He has also fought three more times, including a win against MMA fighter Dillon Danis – his only win.
