Conor McGregor claims to have agreed to a boxing match with WWE superstar Logan Paul

A crossover match between WWE and UFC, but under different rules?

Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor took to his personal X account on Tuesday to say he has agreed to box in India against former WWE USA champion Logan Paul.

“The rumors of a fight with Topurio are false,” McGregor said above. “I have made tentative arrangements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing competition in India. I agreed. I will then aim for my return to the Octagon.”

Neither a date nor a venue has been announced by McGregor. The Takedown has reached out to WWE for comment but has not received one at the time of writing.

Paul has not appeared on WWE television since losing the United States Title to LA Knight at SummerSlam on August 3 in Cleveland. Meanwhile, Paul and his fiancée, model Nina Agdal, welcomed a baby girl at the end of September. Last week, Paul claimed on his ImPaulsive podcast that he was retiring from WWE.

“I’m retired,” Paul said. “I am father, brother.”

McGregor became the first UFC fighter ever to hold two world titles simultaneously when he knocked out Jose Aldo at UFC 194 to win the featherweight belt, and then knocked out Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 to win the lightweight belt.

The Irish native hasn’t fought since a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in July 2021, when he suffered a horrific broken leg. He was scheduled to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June, but he suffered a foot injury.
