After Jake Retzlaff took the ball from Colorado on a surprise onside kick and a rebound from Ethan Slade, he handed the ball off to Gerry Bohanon, who darted downfield and was blocked by Buffalo defensive back DJ McKinney. BYU 10, Colorado 0.

Ferrin now holds the program single-season record for field goals made with 22.

7:10 – BYU strikes first in San Antonio.

The Cougars ended the scoreless tie with a 1-yard rushing touchdown from LJ Martin – his sixth of the season – capping a six-play, 52-yard drive. BYU 7, Colorado 0.

Martin provided a crucial seven-yard gain that he converted on third down early in the drive, along with a 28-yard reception that put the Cougars in the red zone.

Additionally, backup quarterback Gerry Bohanon made a rare appearance on a gadget play to gain 11 yards and set up Martin’s goal-line score.
