The Cincinnati Bengals may have slim chances of making the NFL playoffs, but the blame certainly doesn’t lie with their franchise quarterback.

After a devastating wrist injury cut his 2023 season short, Joe Burrow put together arguably his best season in 2024.

Burrow’s 39 passing touchdowns and 4,229 passing yards are first in the NFL, while ESPN’s QBR metric ranks Burrow as the league’s third-highest passer.

Despite the Bengals’ 7-8 record, Burrow’s numbers at least keep him in the running for the league’s most prestigious award, the Most Valuable Player award.

Numerous sportsbooks and oddsmakers have released NFL MVP odds and Burrow’s name is among the favorites.

As of Monday, FanDuel Sportsbook lists Burrow with the seventh-best odds to win the MVP at +15,000. DraftKings Sportsbook favors Burrow slightly more, with the Bengals QB tied with Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold for the fifth-best odds.

Bovada, another sports betting company, has Burrow with the seventh-best odds at +15,000.

With two weeks to go before the start of the regular season, most teams have Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen as the consensus favorite for MVP honors. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley and Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff are others who are getting good odds at sports betting.

The Bengals have had two players win the MVP award in franchise history: Ken Anderson in 1981 and Boomer Esiason in 1988.
