Dallas Stars Daily Links: Happy Festivus

Dallas Stars Daily Links: Happy Festivus

The Stars are facing their first elimination in three games of the season. Can they get back on track tonight?

Coming out 3-3 at home after six games leaves a lot to be desired, but maybe that’s what this team needs to get out of Dallas and head back to a slightly cooler Salt Lake City to get back on track to get the track. This game also carries a little more weight now than it did at the beginning of the season, considering the Dallas Stars are now right next to Utah in the Central Division, where the team is currently in 4th place (Utah is in 5th ).

While the power play is still struggling (Dallas is 25th in PP%, yes 25th), it’s good to see some resurgence from Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz, but it’s going to take a lot more to get this one Getting the team back on track. Everyone just seems out of sync and the same problems that have plagued the team all season continue. Unfortunately, the schedule doesn’t get any easier as the Stars will face the Minnesota Wild on Friday (2nd at Central) and the Chicago Blackhawks next Sunday (you might laugh, but this team has done a pretty good job in life). up to the term “trap”). After the Blackhawks, the Stars take on the struggling Buffalo Sabers in what could easily be considered a win to close out 2024 and start 2025 on a high note.

Hopefully the team we expect will show up tonight and right the ship, but I think if these struggles continue, serious changes to the roster, line or coaching staff should be considered to shake things up.

Star stuff

I’d like to frame this somehow:

Happy Otter Days!

Around the headquarters

With the exception of the Colorado Avalanche, all Central Division teams will be on the ice tonight:

  • The Winnipeg Jets make a trip north of the border to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs this afternoon (ESPN). It sounds like the Leafs will be without Austin Matthews in this game.
  • The St. Louis Blues will look to defeat the Blues tonight as they play the Detroit Red Wings, who have lost two straight games to the Montreal Canadians. The Blues are currently on a three-game losing streak (ESPN).
  • The Nashville Predators host the Carolina Hurricanes tonight in a Festivus celebration (ESPN). The Predators have struggled to find their name this season, so a win before the holidays could help boost morale.
  • The Chicago Blackhawks will travel to Minnesota tonight to take on the Wild in an interdivision matchup. The Wild have lost four straight and this Blackhawks team has a reputation for winning against talented teams. So losing five in a row is entirely possible (ESPN).

I think it’s fair to say there is some regret about not re-signing him…

The world of Chel

Were you too busy wrapping presents last night? It’s all ok. I’ll unpack what happened last night:

Lots of shaved ice tonight:

Good.

Great weekend for Stars affiliates

The Texas Stars had an away win over the Central Division-leading Milwaukee Admirals and the Grand Rapids Griffins over the weekend. The latter in comeback style – Justin Hyrckowian equalized in the last two minutes, while Arttu Hyry scored the winning goal in extra time.

Meanwhile, Texas is temporarily without its captain – but that’s a good thing, because Curtis McKenzie is representing Canada at the Spengler Cup.

And let’s give Antonio Strange’s human highlight reel some love.

Back in Idaho, the Steelheads fought their way back to the top of the Mountain Division with a win in the Rapid City Rush.

Finally

DBD Nation, which Stars player would you choose?
