Rain and temperatures at the weekend

Friday morning was the coldest of the season so far, with DFW officially reporting its first frost of the season. It will remain cool today as rain falls again in the area. Sunday brings a warm-up that lasts until early next week. A strong cold front will cause brief cooling until the middle of next week. This cold front could bring another round of freezing temperatures Wednesday and Thursday morning.

Rainfall is increasing today and this evening. It won’t be a disaster, but be prepared, especially if you’re in the eastern half of North Texas.

On Sunday the rain will ease from west to east.

North Texas could see up to half an inch of rain in some areas, and up to an inch in areas on the southeast side of North Texas.

So if you’re heading out to holiday events this weekend – especially the Dallas Holiday Parade – be sure to plan and dress accordingly. The Dallas Holiday Parade will definitely be chilly. There is a chance of a few rain showers during the parade, especially towards the end. The highest amount of precipitation will last until Saturday afternoon.
