Dalton Kincaid is out against the 49ers

ORCHARD PARK – Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott said Friday morning that tight end Dalton Kincaid will miss his second straight game due to the knee injury he suffered in a Nov. 10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Kincaid has not practiced since his injury early in the game, so Dawson Knox will once again assume the starting role when the Bills host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football, and Quintin Morris will be his replacement. This could also mean that Zach Davidson will be added to the practice squad for the second time.

“It’s really in the hands of our coaches and they keep me updated here on a daily basis,” McDermott said. “I think we’re moving in the right direction, I feel like we are. It’s going to take some time to get there, but we’ll just see how the next few days go.”

Keon Coleman injury update

As for the rest of the injury report, the only other player who did not fully participate in practice this week, wide receiver Keon Coleman, will be listed as questionable when the final injury report is released later Friday.

Also on the list in question are linebacker Matt Milano and defensive tackle DeWayne Carter, while offensive tackle Spencer Brown, who missed the win over the Kansas City Chiefs, has been cleared to return and will play against the 49ers. All of these players have trained extensively.

Carter has been on injured reserve since undergoing wrist surgery last month, while Milano has been on injured reserve since the start of the season after tearing his biceps muscle in training camp.

Milano returned to practice as a full participant after the Bills opened his 21-day practice window a few days before their game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bills have until the middle of next week to take him off the injured list, but that could happen this weekend.

“Yeah, I mean, this is basically his first week of real training, so we’re just trying to take it one day at a time out of respect for Matt and what he’s been through and just wanted to make sure “We’re checking all the criteria here, medically and mentally,” said McDermott.

“He hasn’t really completed a Friday training session to this extent. So we’ll see how he gets on today and move on from there. Matt is a pretty well-adjusted young man, and so things don’t change much in his day-to-day life. I’m just going to stick with the trainer after training today and go from there. So that’s really the calculated approach that we’ve used before.”
