Derrick Henry breaks the Baltimore Ravens’ TD record

Derrick Henry certainly lives up to his nickname “The King” in his first season with the Baltimore Ravens.

Henry, the 2020 Offensive Player of the Year, has been everything the Ravens could have wanted and more. He racked up rushing yards and touchdowns almost at will, taking this already dynamic offense to new levels.

Henry scored again in Wednesday’s opener against the Houston Texans to once again write his name into the record books. He scored his 16th touchdown of the season on a 2-yard rush, the most in a single season in franchise history.

That’s not all, as Henry also scored his 14th rushing touchdown of the season, tying him with Jamal Lewis (2003) for the most touchdowns in a single season in franchise history.

Henry had been on the verge of equaling these records for some time, but went four straight games without a touchdown after scoring in each game previously. However, everything is fine now as he has the balance with a game and change.

It’s only fitting that it came against the Texans, a team he constantly tormented as a member of the Tennessee Titans. This is his only game against his former league this season and he reminds the Texans why he is one of the best defenders of this generation.

Baltimore leads 10-0 late in the first quarter.
