DeShaun Foster’s selling points for UCLA football

DeShaun Foster’s selling points for UCLA football

Even though the UCLA Bruins football season didn’t go too well this season, coach DeShaun Foster believes UCLA is providing guidance to young players like never before. After his first year as head coach, Foster has shown strong development from day one.

Foster highlighted the strength of his rising star linebacker Carson Schwesinger this season, as Schwesinger took his game to a new level he had never reached before. Some might say that Foster’s leadership could have led Schwesinger to where he is now, or that Foster lit a fire under Schwesinger to show his true potential.

“I’m happy for him (Schwesinger); when you have a player that plays the way he does, he needs to be recognized,” Foster said of Schwesinger’s production this season when he joined the “Bruin Insider Show” this week. “I’m glad the East Coast can test it.”

Foster has brought his NFL experience to these young UCLA Bruin players and instilled discipline in the growth and learning process. Foster has expressed numerous times that he is proud to be a Bruin, both as a coach and as a player.

“I’m just a Bruin. Whenever you get the opportunity to be the head coach at your alma, you want to do great things,” Foster said. “No one cares more about this program than I do. I love the way our guys fight every game. I’m glad we have another opportunity to play in the Rose Bowl and do strong with the seniors.”

Foster has experienced ups and downs in his college, professional and coaching careers throughout his football career. With UCLA ends its seasonFoster thought about what he wanted his players and UCLA fans to take away from this season.

“I want the seniors to know that they helped create a foundation upon which this program will be built. It all starts with them,” Foster said. “I have every confidence that this program will achieve exactly what it is intended to do: be one of the top ten schools in the country and play great football. We will continue to strive to be great.”
