Detroit Pistons vs. Boston Celtics prediction, odds and tips

The Pistons fought hard, but in the end a 21-point loss to Milwaukee meant they were eliminated from the Emirates NBA Cup. But things get even worse as they travel to Boston to face the defending champions on the second night in a row. It will be the second meeting between the two teams this season. Detroit put up a good fight in late October, but ultimately lost at home 124-118. It was their tenth consecutive defeat in head-to-head meetings, so it’s no surprise that they are double-digit underdogs heading into Wednesday night.

Boston is also out of the Emirates NBA Cup, but unlike Detroit, they had a night off last night, so that’s an advantage for them. The Cs are coming off a 108-89 win over Miami on Monday, with Jaylen Brown returning to the lineup with 29 points while Payton Pritchard contributed 25 points off the bench. It comes down to whether the Celtics take this game seriously or not. They are a flawless 5-0 SU in their last five home games and have beaten the Pistons in five straight games at TD Garden.

Only the OKC Thunder have a higher net rating than Boston this season. It’s not easy to win by 14 points in today’s NBA, but the Celtics have done it in two of their last four games against Miami and the Clippers.
