Did Taylor Sheridan ruin “Yellowstone”?

Did Taylor Sheridan ruin “Yellowstone”?

That’s embarrassing. Even wince. I can’t believe it, but Yellowstone is completely Taylor Sheridan Show Now. The author doesn’t just kill his main character and change the fate of his most popular series forever. That wasn’t enough. This week he’s almost the main character.

I wish I was joking. Yellowstone In this episode, he doesn’t just take a trip to his Bosque Ranch in Texas. In the penultimate episode of this, let me remind you, entire series, the Bosque Ranch logo brandishes every shot as if it were more important than the “Y” logo on the Dutton family ranch. Yellowstone‘S This week’s entire story revolves around Sheridan’s character on the show: Travis Wheatley, the horse trainer. Last week announcing to Jimmy that “John Dutton is dead” and killing Kevin Costner’s character in his bathroom didn’t stick the knife in the wound enough.

We may never know for sure who really took the lead Yellowstone sideways after Costner and Sheridan reportedly argued throughout last summer, but Costner at least stands by his comments on satellite radio interviews. With Sheridan, it feels like we’re watching this little aftermath unfold on screen.

And the worst? (Believe it or not, I haven’t even told you the worst part yet.) Beth (Kelly Reilly) asks his character for help. That’s right. She travels to Bosque Ranch herself in this episode and almost strips naked for him during a game of poker just so he can help them sell their horses. Beth also says flirty lines to him, like, “You’re such a fucking asshole, it’s almost attractive.” What a disservice to her character.

I pray Yellowstone The ranch doesn’t end up in Sheridan’s hands.

Twice we see Sheridan’s character riding. He parties day and night with half-naked girls – and he spends the entire episode making up an entire rock star cowboy myth Yellowstone Universe. When Beth returns to the ranch and asks her husband (Cole Hauser) why he’s friends with this guy, Rip tells her a story about how Travis fought for him in a bar fight when they were younger.

I felt the warnings this week when the lioness The second season finale featured extensive guest appearances from Sheridan as the Delta Force operator who saves the day. I begged the Paramount writer not to end another one of his shows as their personal deus ex machina, but here we are again.

John Dutton is dead – most likely because of Sheridan’s pen. The character’s funeral also takes place in this episode. Now Sheridan could just sit on John Dutton’s throne and declare himself the series’ savior. At the end of the episode, Kayce (Luke Grimes) tells Beth that they may have to give up the ranch to save her. I just pray that Kayce plans to give Yellowstone Ranch to literally every character not played by Taylor Sheridan.
