The Seattle Seahawks are fighting for their playoff life against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16. Things weren’t exactly rosy for Seattle, as Minnesota ran for a 12-play, 70-yard touchdown to open the game. The Seahawks managed to respond two possessions later when Geno Smith found wide receiver DK Metcalf in the corner of the south end zone.

The 25-yard touchdown strike was something wonderful. However, not only did it ensure the game ended 7-7, it also helped make history for the Seahawks. With this score, Metcalf has now surpassed the legendary Steve Largent for the most touchdown receptions in a player’s first six seasons with the franchise. Metcalf now has 47 receiving touchdowns.

The touchdown was Metcalf’s first since Seattle’s 34-14 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7. Injuries and the emergence of Jaxon Smith-Njigba have deprived Metcalf of some opportunities this year, but he easily reminded everyone why he did still one of the best scorers in this league.
