DK Metcalf urges the 12 players not to sell their tickets for Sunday’s home finale

DK Metcalf urges the 12 players not to sell their tickets for Sunday’s home finale

On Sunday, the Seahawks end their regular season home schedule with a visit to the Vikings.

Last Sunday, Lumen Field was infiltrated by Cheeseheads. Will there be an outbreak of SKOL gossip in the next game?

“We still need them to come out and support us,” Seattle receiver DK Metcalf told reporters on Wednesday, referring to the home fans. “I know it was incredibly loud in the first quarter, second or third period. I looked around and there were a lot of Green Bay fans. They did a great job traveling, but just wanted the 12 of us to not sell as many tickets as them to ensure we kept the home field advantage. But yeah, man, it would mean a lot to us just to take home that last game and finish the season strong so we can play in front of them again in the playoffs.”

It’s surprising that Seahawks fans have lost so much of their fanaticism. However, given that they got their long-awaited Super Bowl victory in 2013, it’s up to the team to give them reasons to continue looking for another victory.

Who on the Seahawks is creating excitement? Who sells the team locally? Say what you will about Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, but he knows how to generate interest in his team. Seahawks owner Jody Allen doesn’t.

In fact, there is no one on the Seahawks willing or able to advocate for the 12s not selling their tickets. Who is the face of the franchise? Who motivates the fans to show up and get loud?

A win definitely moves things forward. It helps to have someone moving the needle even if the team isn’t a championship contender.
