Don’t drive drunk this holiday season – AAA is offering Tow To Go rides again

Don’t drive drunk this holiday season – AAA is offering Tow To Go rides again

If you drink alcohol during your holiday celebrations, it is essential to drive home sober beforehand. However, if you don’t plan ahead or your trip falls through, AAA offers a free option as a last resort to get you home safely.

What is Tow To Go?

“If you are faced with the decision of being unable to drive, put down the keys and pick up the phone to call Tow to Go,” said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “AAA will then send a truck to take you and your vehicle to a safe location within 10 miles.”

You can use Tow To Go even if you are not a AAA customer.

It is a confidential service for people who have not planned in advance and do not appoint a sober driver, so appointments cannot be booked in advance. The service will drop you off and tow your vehicle home or anywhere within a 10 mile radius.

The service is considered a last resort when there is no other way home, such as Uber or Lyft.

When and where is Tow To Go available?

Tow To Go will be available from December 24, 2025, 6:00 p.m. to January 2, 2025, 6:00 a.m.

Tow To Go is an option in Michigan, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, North Dakota, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Colorado. The service is also available in Denver, Colorado. Charlotte, North Carolina; and Fort Wayne and South Bend, Indiana.

Tow to Go may not be available in rural areas or during inclement weather.
