Don’t watch Megan Fox’s Subservience on Netflix, watch these Megan Fox horror movies

Netflix has a new No. 1 movie, a licensed snapshot, not an original. That would be “Subservience,” in which Megan Fox plays a helpful android who is supposed to support a father after the death of his wife.

This movie is bad. Don’t look at it. It has poor reviews and audience ratings, and I saw it some time ago when it came to rental streaming. I can’t recommend it at all. I thought it might be an interesting twist on the concept, like (spoilers ahead) Fox’s android being the one who escapes an ultimately abusive father, but instead it’s just…exactly what you’d expect. Fox gets too close to her mission to protect her daughter and becomes crazy and murderous as a result. Yes, it’s essentially a worse version of M3GAN, only Megan Fox sometimes wears underwear.

But Megan Fox Is She’s a really talented horror actress, and there are two specific Fox horror films that I would recommend you watch instead.

Most of you probably know the first sentence I’m about to say: Jennifer’s bodyall the way back to 2009, when Fox was just entering the stage in “Transformers”. The film was way ahead of its time as Fox became possessed by a demon and seduced and devoured mostly men. Fox plays the role brilliantly and the film also features a pretty crazy cast including Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody, Kyle Gallner, Chris Pratt, JK Simmons and Amy Sedaris. “Jennifer’s Body” should have been an explosive box office hit. It only grossed $31 million worldwide. It’s a shame, but it’s now a real horror classic.

The other Megan Fox horror film I would recommend is much more overlooked and far more timely. That would Until deatha film in which Fox is handcuffed to her dead husband as revenge and must survive when she is attacked by other murderers who invade her home. She drags this body around for half the movie and it’s actually a really good concept that she handles well. No, it’s not Jennifer’s Body, but it’s still a good time and definitely better than Subservience.

I really don’t think Megan Fox gets enough credit. When given the right material she’s excellent and even outside of the horror genre I remember her also doing a great job filling in for Jess on New Girl for a while. Submissiveness won’t help her, but the other two films will.
